Artist statement
At first look it seems like a simple thin silver plate. However the process is one of cutting it over and over again and again many many times. In the end the cut plate emerges into a three-dimensional plate. It is like a metamorphosis from a caterpillar into a butterfly. Although I have been making many pieces in this way for more than ten years, yet I enjoy seeing the various new forms emerge.
It is almost like a Zen experience from such a simple technique it always reveals itself in so many.

Espace Solidor is the only public space dedicated solely to contemporary jewellery in France.

作家の言葉：
今回のコンペのテーマは”SEARCHING FOR QUALITY”です。’品質’とは何を持って評価出来るのだろうかと考えながら制作しました。
＞’A piece of jewellery is the result of a pure fermenting process.’ ジュエリーもまたワインと同じように純粋な発酵過程のもたらすものである。
実際の作品の制作にかかる時間は、その作品のアイデアの種が生まれてから現実に現れるまでの時間と比べたら遥かに少ないものです。
このコンペに出品した作品も10年以上’発酵’させて出来上がりました。その長い発酵時間が’品質’を良くしていれば幸いです。
